Bulgari Serpenti x Dom Pérignon Rosé

Bulgari and Dom Pérignon have teamed up for a Limited Edition Vintage Rosé 2004. For this special edition, Bvlgari crafted a necklace in pink gold with onyx and white diamonds and sensually wraps around a magnum of Dom Pérignon. The collection is priced at $275,000.

For this exceptional occasion, the bottle itself is engraved with the snake scale motif and has a rose gold label that evokes both the hue of the Bvlgari Serpenti and the rosé robe of the champagne. “Bulgari Serpenti x Dom Pérignon Rosé” was aged in the cellar for 12 years.

Exclusive to London, Milan, France, and Tokyo.

The full-bodied ease of the 2004 vintage will leave its mark on the history of Dom Pérignon. In stark contrast to the previous year, the vines experienced steady, problem-free vegetative growth, with abundant, sizable grape clusters. There were no weather extremes during most of the season – even the month of August was rather cool. It was the dry heat of the final weeks that made the vintage what it is. The harvest of the mature, healthy crop began on September 24. A smooth taste touches the palate, tinged with a surprising shock of green citrus at the finish.

💙Fancy vivid blue cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond of 2.13 carats, round diamonds, platinum, ring size 6.

Natural blue diamonds are among the rarest of colored diamonds and their color comes from the presence of minute amounts of the element boron incorporated within the lattice structure of the stone during its crystallization process. The necessary amount of boron is so minuscule, less than one boron atom per one-million of carbon atoms can give a diamond a blue color. The absorption of boron occurs approximately one-hundred-million years prior to the rough material being mined.

Estimate: $2-3,000,000. Price: $2,670,000

💛Fancy vivid orange cut-cornered rectangular modified brilliant-cut diamond of 2.34 carats, platinum and 18 carat yellow gold, ring size 6.

Pure orange diamonds, not modified by any other color, are also referred to as ‘fire diamonds’ by famous gemologist Edwin Streeter in his book The Great Diamonds of the World. So few purely orange diamonds have been graded that the origin of their color still bears a mystery. According to the GIA, it is unusual for orange diamonds to reach such high levels of saturation to be deemed ‘Fancy Vivid’.

Estimate: $1,500,000-2,500,000 Price: $2,190,000

💗Fancy vivid purplish pink cut-cornered square modified brilliant-cut diamond of 2.17 carats, round diamonds, platinum and 18 carat yellow gold, ring size 6.

Pink diamonds, caused by an anomaly in the crystal lattice of the stone, have always been considered extremely rare. Historically found in India in the famous Golconda mines, pink diamonds typically display a faint pink pale hue with a chemically low nitrogen content. The 17th century gemstone trader, Jean Baptiste Tavernier, referred to pink diamonds as ‘rose’ colored. In the 1980s, a pink diamond source was discovered in Australia. Called the Argyle Mine, for a nearby lake, pink diamonds of small sizes were regularly mined for the first time in history. Since late 2020, the world’s preeminent source of pink diamonds is now closed.

Estimate: $1,500,000-2,500,000
Sold: $3,510,000

Each of these gemstones’ vibrant and richly saturated color is a wonder of nature. Only one in ten-thousand diamonds graded by the Gemological Institute of America is awarded the status of a fancy color, the highly regarded “vivid” saturation in color sets these diamonds in an entirely different class. These three stones, all formed by entirely different forces of nature, constitute a diamond collector’s dream. Colored diamonds of all hues are very difficult to cut from their rough form. If not calculated correctly, the color could be lost or disappear completely. The stone must be cut to maximize the color, yield the largest size and retain the stunning brilliance diamonds are famous for. The Perfect Palette displays both the wonders of nature and the skill of highly talented diamond cutters.

Behind the Design

The inspiration for the collection began with a series of archival sketches from the 1950s and 60s that featured brightly colored cocktail rings in unexpected shades. The jewelry aesthetic at that time was about magnificence and grandeur and for Harry Winston that meant creating the most extraordinary jewels, using signature techniques such as the pairing of fancy shaped stones with round brilliants and the use of intriguing color combinations. Realizing the potential of these incredible renderings, Winston Designers sought to create modern interpretations that recall the sophistication of a bygone era.

With a myriad of color combinations, each Winston Candy Ring magically transforms nature’s most delightful elements into bejeweled confections that demand attention.
